Hoedown Throwdown
The second song to be released from the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack is Hoedown Throwdown. It first went on sale on the 10 of March 2009 where it could be purchased from the iTunes store.
Hoedown Throwdown is an unusual blend of pop, R&B, country and hip-hop. It uses elements of all the most commercially successful forms of music in America today. The reason for these styles to be combine is to represent both sides of Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, with a mix of pop for the Hannah Montana personality and country music for Miley Cyrus’s country roots.

Everybody's favourite new dance. Miley Performs the Hoedown Throwdown
The lyrics to the song provide instructions on a dance routine for the track. The dance routines in the song are inspired by line dancing. Hoedown Throwdown was written for Hannah Montana: The Movie. Peter Chelsom who directed the movie thought it would do well to have song including its own dance routine.
Boom Boom clap, boom di-clap di-clap
The song opens with the lyrics “Boom boom clap, boom di-clap di-clap”. Disney have made an effort to teach fans the dance moves to How Down Throwdown. It began by giving a “How to Do the Howdown Throwdown” leasson on the Disney Channel. Miley Cyrus along with the song’s choreographer performed each of the moves and finished by putting the whole routine together. The moves can also be seen learned by watching the video on Youtube.
The song gained success as a top 20 hit here as well as in Australia, Canada, Norway, and the US. It was most popular in Ireland where it entered the top 10.
